Churches and Chapelles

L'église Saint-Joseph (1934)

Originally built for the workers and their families of the Chedde electrochemical factory in 1896 this church was consecrated in 1934 and dedicated to the patron saint of skilled craftsmen.

The décor of its six gothic openings was submitted to one of the most representative of Art Deco glass stainers of his period, Raphaël Lardeur.

La chapelle de Bay (1680)

This small hamlet chapel, dedicated to St François de Sales, St Symphorien, St Félix et St Grat is a typical example of baroque expression of the second half of the 17th century.

There is a remarkable wooden retable in gilded polychrome with a painting to represent the Assumption of the Virgin (recent restoration).

The Church of St Pierre and St Paul

Behind its quiet and robust appearance, Passy's church hides nineteen centuries of history.

Since its presence in the roman period, through the times when Passy was passed between the Comtes de Geneve, the Sires de Faucigny, the Ducs de Savoie, the Dauphiné and France, up to the 20th century restorations of its interior decorations and glass works, the visitor given an extraordinary journey through time; roman commemorative plaque, roman bell, barrel-vault porchway, gothic windows, 15th century chancel, listed baroque furniture, and sarde neo-classic décor.
